Grovedale
I’m Mark, a Personal Trainer based in Geelong with over five years’ experience working across both fitness and NDIS services. My background includes ten years in the military, mentoring experience, and ongoing study in exercise science — all of which shape the way I work today.
I focus on providing one-on-one training and guidance that fits each individual. Whether someone is looking to build strength, improve movement, or create more structure in their week, I aim to make things straightforward and consistent. My sessions are flexible and built to support real progress.
You can choose where the sessions happen. Many people train at my private home studio in Grovedale, which is set up to be welcoming, comfortable, and easy to access. Others prefer to meet in a local gym, park, or familiar community space. It depends entirely on what you’re comfortable with and what fits into your routine.
I offer personalised training and disability support that works around your preferences, not the other way around. Whether you like a consistent indoor space or enjoy being outdoors, the goal is to make the location part of what helps you progress. Every setting is chosen to support what we’re working on, and we’ll always talk it through together to find what feels right.
There’s no set formula. Every session is built around your goals, preferences, and how you’re feeling on the day. That could include strength training, walking, light cardio, mobility work, or boxing. For some, it might also involve building routine or confidence in community settings. I welcome your feedback on what you like and dislike as we go to ensure it is comfortable and enjoyable.
Sessions are one-on-one or up to three people and completely tailored to each individual, with clear guidance and space to progress at your own pace. Whether you’re here for fitness, general health, or additional support needs, the focus is on making progress in a way that feels manageable, flexible, and meaningful.
Absolutely. Many people I work with are new to training or haven’t done it in a long time. You don’t need to be fit or experienced to start, you just need to be open to giving it a go. I’ll meet you where you’re at and tailor everything to suit your ability, confidence, and comfort level. I’ll also check in regularly to make sure you’re feeling good about the pace and progress.
Sessions move at your speed, with a focus on building strength and routine in a way that feels achievable. If you’d feel more comfortable bringing along a friend, partner, or sibling, you can. I offer small group sessions for up to three people. Whether you’re starting from scratch or getting back into movement, there’s no pressure.
I provide services under several NDIS support categories depending on what the participant needs and how their plan is managed. These include:
0125: Participation in community access, social and recreational activities
0126: Personal Training and physical wellbeing activities
0128: Therapeutic supports (under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals)
These categories allow me to deliver a combination of physical training, social engagement, and therapy-assistant-style work. I’ve worked with over 50 NDIS participants with a wide range of goals, from building strength and mobility to increasing independence and social confidence.
Whether it’s structured fitness or movement-based mentoring, all services are tailored to the individual and aligned with their plan goals. If you’re unsure whether your plan covers this type of support, I’m happy to chat with support coordinators or families to see where my support can fit.
I will seek the feedback of the individual as we go and regularly check in with support coordinators, parents and carers where appropriate.
In many cases, yes — NDIS funding can be used for personal training if it aligns with the goals in the participant’s plan and fits under relevant support categories. I often work with participants whose plans include goals related to health, mobility, confidence, community access, or social engagement.
Depending on how the plan is managed — self, plan, or agency — we can structure services under appropriate line items such as community participation, therapeutic supports, or physical wellbeing. I’m always happy to work with participants, support coordinators, plan managers, or families to clarify the funding pathway.
I have experience delivering services that align with plan goals while still making the sessions feel practical and enjoyable. My work combines personalised training and disability support, with a focus on long-term progress. If you’re not sure how your plan applies, feel free to reach out for a chat.
I work with people aged 15 through to 70, and the approach is always adjusted to suit the person’s stage of life, physical capacity, and preferences. My experience includes working with teenagers building confidence and life skills, adults working on routine and mobility, and older clients who want to maintain strength, stay independent, or reconnect with movement.
Sessions are adapted to each individual — whether it’s their first time training or they’ve been active before. I also have a strong connection with Veterans and older adults who value a respectful, structured but down-to-earth approach. My focus is on delivering personalised training and disability support in a way that is consistent, comfortable, and genuinely useful at any age.
If someone is unsure whether they “fit” the service, the best thing to do is have a chat — because most of the time, the answer is yes.
The training environment is a private, safe and welcoming space designed to help you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. The home studio includes all of the equipment you would normally see at a public gym, without all the noise, crowds or distractions. It’s quiet and homely, with a relaxed feel that supports people who experience social anxiety, noise sensitivity or just prefer a calm setting.
The equipment is state-of-the-art and specifically chosen to suit all fitness levels, so you’ll never feel overwhelmed or lost. The space includes all the usual cardio and strength equipment, arranged in a way that helps you feel at ease while you train. It’s a place to learn, grow, understand your body and have fun while exercising, at your own pace and in your own way.
